Recommended Fabrics:
The scrunchie can be sewn in any light to medium weight fabric, and works in woven and knit fabrics.
The fabric used will affect the finished look of the scrunchie, and particularly of the bow detail – with woven fabrics typically giving a more structured, and knit fabrics a softer appearance.
Required Notions:
- 1/4 metre or yard of fabric
- Polyester Thread
- Elastic (narrow width (e.g. 3mm) general purpose braided elastic is recommended); a length of between 17-23cm is required

- Machine and hand sewing seams
- Adding elastic
