I have been blogging about sewing (previously under the name English Girl at Home) since 2011. I received my first sewing machine as a teenager and sewed toys and the occasional garment from then on, until I became obsessed with garment sewing in my 20s, inspired by sewing blogs, indie sewing patterns and the Great British Sewing Bee.
I love meeting up with fellow sewers in person and since 2014 I have organised an annual free-to-attend sewing meet-up, SewBrum, in my hometown of Birmingham. I am also one of the organisers of annual sewing holiday, The Sewing Weekender, which takes place in Cambridge and Online, in collaboration with The Fold Line.
Alongside sewing, I knit, am learning to weave, and dabble in millinery. I’m a member of the Birmingham branch of the Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers.
