Recommended Fabrics:
For the Jacket Body: Medium weight suitings or light to medium weight coatings in wool, tweed, brocade or cotton. Due to the bodice seam lines, patterned fabrics which require seam matching are not recommended.
For the Lining: Light to medium weight lining fabrics, including acetate, cupro, and silk.
Required Notions:
- Medium-weight fusible interfacing (woven or weft insertion recommended) Required amounts listed below assume a width of 90cm (35in)
- B Cup Sizes 4-22: 1.9 metres (2 1/4 yards)
- D Cup Sizes 20-36: 3 metres (3 1/4 yards)
- Light-weight fusible interfacing (woven or weft insertion recommended) Required amounts listed below assume a width of 90cm (35in)
- B Cup Sizes 4-22: 0.9 metres (1 yard)
- D Cup Sizes 20-36: 1.4 metres (1 1/2yards)
- Fusible edge tape: 4m (4.4 yards) x 20mm wide (5/8 in), or create your own by cutting strips of fusible interfacing
- Shoulder pads (x2)
- Sleeve heads (x2), or small scraps of wool, fleece or flannel fabric to create your own
- Buttons (sleeve and lapel)
- 4 x 19mm (3/4in) for the sleeves
- 3 x 25mm (1in) for the jacket front
- Polyester thread
- Hand sewing needle/s
- Press cloth to protect fabric during pressing
- Seam roll or tailor’s ham (optional)
- Wood clapper for pressing open seams (optional)
