This is my second Named Clothing Kielo Wrap Dress. I’ve worn the first Kielo dress I made (back in 2019) regularly, and I thought a second Kielo would be a good addition to my wardrobe.
Like my first Kielo, this one is made in a woven fabric. I think the pattern instructions originally suggested that the dress could be made in a woven or a knit (unless I’m misremembering). The current version of the pattern only recommends knit fabrics, but I can vouch that it works really well in a woven fabric too.
The fabric is a Cotton & Steel cotton fabric which I bought from Guthrie & Ghani back in 2016. During a sort of my fabric stash, earlier this year, this was one of the fabrics I pulled out with the intention to finally put it to use asap.
I cut a size Medium and – copying what I did with my previous Kielo dress – removed nine inches from the hem, increasing the height of the vent to compensate.
I’ve already worn this new Kielo dress loads, including packing it for two recent holidays, so it’s been a very successful project.
