Motoring Hood and Drew Sweater

We’ve had an excellent leisurely Sunday.

I started the day finishing a novel, followed by overcoming a frustrating bit of my current knitting project (Sandport Sweater by Ysolda Teague), while watching Slumber Party Massacre 2.

This afternoon we went to see the new release of Hammer’s original Dracula film, with the sections removed by the censor reinstated. It looks amazing, although I’d forgotten how far removed from the book it is and got confused which country we were in.

We made time for a walk around Cannon Hill Park before the film, and it gave me the chance to wear two new handmade items. A Tilly and the Buttons Drew Sweatshirt and a Susan Crawford Motoring Hood.

The Drew sweatshirt is in Higgs and Higgs fabric, bought at this year’s Festival of Quilts. I made the cropped version and sized down to a size 4, as the first Drew I made (based on my measurements) is quite oversized.

The Motoring Hood is in a Garthenor Organic yarn from my stash which I was really happy to finally put to good use. I finished knitting this hood back in May and immediately put it away in a drawer so it was great to finally get the chance, and the weather, to wear it.
