About Us

We are an independent sewing pattern company based in Birmingham, UK.

Modern Pattern to Inspire your Sewing.

We create wearable patterns with interesting design features, in sizes 04 to 36. We work with a professional pattern cutter and grader to develop our patterns and undertake thorough quality testing.

Each pattern comes in a print-at-home (A4 and US Letter), copy shop (A0), and projector-ready (A0) formats, with detailed step-by-step instructions.

Each pattern is supported by online resources, tutorials and pattern hacks which you can find on our blog and in our tutorials section.

Meet Charlotte

I have been blogging about sewing (previously under the name English Girl at Home) since 2011. I received my first sewing machine as a teenager and sewed toys and the occasional garment from then on, until I became obsessed with garment sewing in my 20s, inspired by sewing blogs, indie sewing patterns and the Great British Sewing Bee.

I love meeting up with fellow sewers in person and since 2014 I have organised an annual free-to-attend sewing meet-up, SewBrum, in my hometown of Birmingham. I am also one of the organisers of annual sewing holiday, The Sewing Weekender, which takes place in Cambridge and Online, in collaboration with The Fold Line.

Alongside sewing, I knit, am learning to weave, and dabble in millinery. I’m a member of the Birmingham branch of the Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers.
